But I think it's important to do the best.
Some of them could study hard, some of them could be into sports.
I'd like to explain the meanings of school studies.

2. English

English is a lingua franca in modern society.
Lingua franca is a common language between speakers whose mother tongues are different.
English is a most useful common language in the world.

Some people recommend to learn English at first.
If we can speak English, we can offer information in English, make friends from all over the world traveling abroad.

3. Japanese (Native language)

English is important as a communication tool.
Native language (Japanese in Japan) is also important.
It's not only a communication tool but also a thinking tool.

Students who study native language properly could study other subjects properly.
We can't study anything without a thinking tool.
If you aren't good at native language, first of all, you have to study it.

4. Science and Social studies

Science includes physics, chemistry and so on.
It means natural science except for math.
Social studies includes history, politics, economics and so on.
It's also called social science.

Scientific methods are important to study something which belongs to natural science or social science.
We have to study math in order to use scientific methods.

5. Mathematics

Math is the gateway of STEM.
STEM means Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Math is a tool to study science, technology, engineering.

Some students want to study pure mathematics.
It includes algebra, geometry, analysis and so on.

Some students want to study applied mathematics.
For example, mathematical finance, mathematical economics, mathematics of information, mathematics for electrical and electronic engineering, physical mathematics and so on.

6. Freedom

 Everyone is different.
Everyone needs different math.
If you need to study something, you will study it.

What is it?
It may be math or other subjects or other sciences or other studies.
If you like sports, you will do it.

It is freedom.
We are free to do as we like.
"One may dance without holding an umbrella in the rain. It is freedom." (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)
