Reason why Japanese people should learn English

1. English for Japanese young

 Recently I watched the video of a young Japanese YouTuber.
He was passionately talking that it was important for Japanese young people to learn English.

In Japan many young people are wondering what they should study or learn at the beginning of their careers.
Computer science, mathematics, programming, SNS, YouTube?

He recommended to learn English at first.
If we can speak English, we can offer information in English, make friends from all over the world traveling abroad.

2. There is a big market

 In the world there are many people who can speak English but can't speak Japanese.
The number of people who can speak English is larger than that of people who can speak Japanese.
If we can speak English, we can access to the big market where people are communicating in English.

Japanese people are so shy that they are not good at English.
But in Japan people have studied English since they entered junior high school, so they can understand English more or less.

In the world there are many people who are not interested in Japan and never understand Japanese.
It will be more important for Japanese (not only government, local governments, and corporations but also smaller companies, and individuals) to offer information in English.

3. Japanese Pop

  Recently I watched the video of a young foreign YouTuber.
She speaks good Japanese.
She likes Japanese Pop.
She said that many people couldn't understand Japanese lyrics and couldn't enjoy Japanese songs.

If Japanese singers sing in English, they may be popular all over the world, and their videos may have a few billion views.
Many Japanese popular singers don't sing in English, so many foreign people don't know them.
Some Japanese singers sing in English and become popular abroad, but sometimes they are not so popular in Japan because many Japanese are not good at English.

4. Japanese culture

 I'm explaining what's so important about learning English.
But it's also important to learn Japanese language and culture.
Japanese language is a barrier for Japan and Japanese from the foreign influences.
Language and culture would characterize the nation or the country.

If you won't become a linguist, language (either Japanese or English) is the tool to communicate with other people.
Foreign people are studying Japanese because they are interested in Japanese culture.

If you can speak English, you can communicate with people in the differernt countries.
But if you don't know Japanese culture and can't explain it, they may be disappointed with your speech.

It's also a self-discipline.
